Multicultural Ambulatory Addictions Services (MAAS) Day Treatment, New Haven, CT

MAAS offers individualized planning based on clinical needs, working directly with the person.  Our goal is to maximize recovery potential by providing culturally appropriate, compassionate behavioral health and addiction treatment services to help individuals understand the underlying cause(s) of their addiction while working toward sustainable recovery with an understanding there are multiple pathways toward recovery. Our services include but not limited to (offered in English and Spanish)

Outpatient Treatment Services

 

MAAS Treatment clinic offers an intensive outpatient program providing treatment for adults who are looking for additional support.  The program provides three hours of clinical groups per day, three days per week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  Intensive outpatient treatment services are in English. Spanish outpatient group Tuesdays at 10am.

 

Additionally, psychoeducational outpatient groups offered 1-2 times per week.

 

Medication Assisted Treatment

MAAS offers treatment for opioid addiction with either methadone, buprenorphine (Suboxone or Sublocade) by utilizing a combination of medication and psychotherapeutic clinical treatment interventions aimed toward building a foundation upon which long-term recovery can take place, targeting inner city and traditionally underserved populations, including but not limited to Latinos and African Americans. Treatment intensity varies based on patient needs to support their recovery. Services offered in both English and Spanish.

Harm Reduction Model

MAAS provides harm reduction services that aim to support individuals with opioid use disorder by promoting safety, health and dignity. These services include access to naloxone (Narcan) for overdose prevention, fentanyl and xylazine test strips, HIV and hepatitis C testing, education on safer ways to use street drugs, such as how to avoid contaminated supplies, reduce the risk of overdose and recognize signs of fentanyl exposure. The goal is to reduce the risks associated with drug use while empowering individuals to take steps toward recovery at their own pace.

Services Provided

  • Evidence-based individual sessions and psychoeducational group therapy

  • Pharmacotherapy, buprenorphine (Suboxone or Sublocade) or methadone treatment

  • Recovery coaching and case management to provide hope within their recovery and connect patients to community resources to assess their needs and help eliminate barriers

  • Latino Behavioral Health Services

  • Outreach services and advocacy to help support patient needs

  • Referral/case coordination

  • Basic primary care services by Fair Haven Clinic and bloodwork by a certified phlebotomist

  • Psychiatric evaluation and medication management

  • Toxicology screenings/breathalyzers

Hours

Clinical hours Monday through Friday: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Medicating hours Monday through Friday: 5:45 AM - 1:00 PM

Saturday: 6:30am – 11:00am

We provide intake assessments on a walk-in basis daily Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 11:30am by a credentialed clinician. We accept Medicaid, Medicare, Anthem, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna and Cigna although will not turn away anyone without insurance as MAAS offers a sliding fee scale

 

*Should a Spanish speaking individual need/want a residential level of care, a referral could be made to CASA Hostos
